مدرس الأدوية والسموم بكلية الصيدلة – جامعة هليوبوليس للتنمية المستدامة- حصلت على درجة الماجستير في علم الأدوية والسموم من كلية الصيدلة جامعة الأزهر عام 2016 ، وعلى درجة الدكتوراه في كلية الصيدلة جامعة عين شمس عام 2020
تشمل الاهتمامات البحثية للدكتورة يارا أبو المجد إنشاء نماذج حيوانية مصابة بداء السكري و معالجة مضاعفاته مثل التأخر الإدراكي وجروح السكري وتليف الكبد كما تعمل حاليًا على تحسين مناهج الأدوية والسموم عن طريق استخدام برامج المحاكاة لترشيد استخدام حيوانات التجارب.
