Professor of Pharmacognosy
Prof. Sameh AbouZid is a professor of pharmacognosy at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Heliopolis University. He obtained B.Sc. in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the Faculty of Pharmacy, Cairo University. He obtained his M.Sc. and Ph.D. from Graduate School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, The University of Tokyo. He was a postdoctoral researcher at the International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. M.I. Choudhary. He is working as a University staff member since March 2005. He was promoted to a professorship in December 2016. He was a visiting scholar at the laboratory of Prof. Dr. Guido Pauli, UIC in 2014. He supervised 23 master and doctoral students working in isolation, structure elucidation and testing biological activity of plant natural products and production of medicinal plants using new techniques of hydroponics and aquaponics
