New academic programs may be established based on the recommendations of the Faculty council and the approval of Heliopolis University council and the board of trustees. The Faculty of Business and Economics has 6 Departments: Accounting, Marketing, Economics, Management & Human Development, Finance & Investment, and Statistics.

1. The Department of Accounting

The Department of Accounting is focused primarily on the aspects of business accounting in the Faculty of Business and Economics. The department is focused on using and teaching the established methods as well as new and emerging methods of accounting that help achieving sustainable development in accounting. The members of the faculty are responsible for teaching courses such as principles of accounting, cost accounting, intermediate accounting, and all other courses related to the field of accounting. In addition, the department and its members are concerned with the academic program of accounting. The department is responsible for choosing the most appropriate courses, setting the study plan, creating course descriptions, making adjustments, and sending recommendations to the Dean of the Faculty for enhancing the academic program and making amendments to the bylaws related to this program upon necessity.

2. The Department of Marketing

The Department of Marketing is focused primarily on the aspects of Marketing in the Faculty of Business and Economics. The department is focused on using and teaching both quantitative and qualitative methods of marketing and marketing research. Furthermore, the department is responsible for researching new aspects of marketing that help in community building, societal development, and sustainable development. The members of the faculty are responsible for teaching courses such as Principles of Marketing, Marketing Management, Green Marketing, Services Marketing, and all other courses related to the field of Marketing. In addition, the department and its members are concerned with the academic program of Marketing. The department is responsible for choosing the most appropriate courses, setting the study plan, creating course descriptions, making adjustments, and sending recommendations to the Dean of the faculty for enhancing the academic program and making amendments to the bylaws related to this program upon necessity.

3. The Department of Economics and Development

The Department of Economics focuses on researching and teaching the fundamentals of economics and economics theory as well as teaching new and different concepts of economics. The members of the department are to research concepts related to Social economics, Self-Sufficiency Economics, Developmental Economics, and Sustainable Economics. Furthermore, members of the faculty are to teach subjects related to the aforementioned courses as well as Macroeconomics, Econometrics, Applied Economics, and the rest of the courses from the Faculty of Business and Economics that fall under the field of economics. In addition, the department and its members are concerned with the Integral Economics program, choosing the most appropriate courses, setting the study plan, creating course descriptions, making adjustments, and sending recommendations to the Dean of the faculty for enhancing the program and making amendments to the bylaws upon necessity.

4. The Department of Management & Human Development

The Department of Management & Human Development is concerned with introducing and establishing new and innovative courses to the FBE. The department has three focuses to develop existing courses in order to be more in-line with the university and faculty vision and mission, establish courses with a focus on development and sustainable development, and to manage the academic program of Management and Human Development. The department offers the courses of Introduction to Social Theories, Natural Resource Management, Global Social Challenges, Integral Human Development, Human Resource Management, Supply Chain Management, and all other courses related to the field of Management & Human Development. The department is responsible for choosing the most appropriate courses, setting the study plan, creating course descriptions, making adjustments, and sending recommendations to the Dean of the faculty for enhancing the academic program and making amendments to the bylaws related to this program upon necessity.

5. The Department of Finance & Investment

The Department of Finance & Investment is focused primarily on the aspects of Finance and Investment in the Faculty of Business and Economics. The department focuses on using and teaching methods of ethical finance and investment to use them to transform society. Furthermore, the department is responsible for researching the most advanced concepts of finance and investment. The members of the faculty are responsible for teaching courses such as Finance, Business Finance, and all other courses related to the fields of Finance & Investment. In addition, the department and its members are concerned with the academic program of Finance & Investment. The department is responsible for choosing the most appropriate courses, setting the study plan, creating course descriptions, making adjustments, and sending recommendations to the Dean of the faculty for enhancing the academic program and making amendments to the bylaws related to this program upon necessity.

6. The Department of Quantitative Methods

This Department is focused primarily on the quantitative methods used in relation to business and economics. This department is responsible for courses such as Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research, and all other courses related to quantitative methods. The department is not responsible for any specific program, but it is responsible for enriching the existing programs with mathematical and quantitative subjects that enhance the teaching and learning experience. Furthermore, the department is to assist the others in their research with regards to the statistical and quantitative aspects of the research.
