Dr. Hamada Shousha, Professor of Acting at Heliopolis University has recently been awarded the Best Scenography for his participation in the 11th round of Asheyat Toqoos Theatre Festival that was held in Amman, Jordan in June.
Dr. Shousha’s theatre group participated in the festival with a play titled “Krapp’s Tape and the Game Waiting for Godot” “شريط كراب واللعبة في انتظار غودو.” The play’s script is based on the plot of Samuel Beckett ‘s most famous stage plays: “Krapp’s Last Tape,” Fin de partie (Endgame),” and “Waiting for Godot.” Each play takes around two hours and half on stage, however, Dr. Shousha as the director and main actor in the play could skillfully perform his play in only 60 minutes. Shousha’s Independent Theater Group was selected out of fifteen theater groups from Egypt. The group was established by Dr. Shousha in 1991.
Dr. Hamada Shousha is an esteemed Egyptian theater actor since 1998. He participated in many national and international festivals like The Avignon Festival in France for eight rounds, the International Festival of Carthage, Tunisia for three rounds, the Silk Road Festival in Germany, Tortosa Renaissance Festival in Spain, Montreal Festival in Canada, Milano Theater Festival in Italy, The Fourth Art Festival in Indonesia, Le Festival de Casablanca in Morocco, and the National Festival in Algeria.
Dr. Shousha won a lot of awards including the bronze medal for silent acting in Paris, the Choreography Award at the National Theater Festival in Egypt, and the first Direction Award, in addition to Best Theatrical Performance and Best Actor Awards from the Egyptian Society of Theater Amateurs (ESOTA).
