Dr.  Indjy M.Shawket (Head of Department)

Associate professor

Indjy Mohamed Shawket is an Egyptian Architect, an Associate professor of Architecture and Urban design (2019), from where she got her master and Ph.D degree from Cairo University (2011 & 2014).

Her researches include issues related to urban design and its relation with different social and human aspects. She works for several academic institutes in Egypt. Besides, Indjy is interested in teaching children architecture through a number of workshops under the title of ‘Eco-Kiddy Architect’. As well as, she has an experience in arranging and organizing international academic conferences besides being a reviewer

for issued journals and proceedings. On the other hand, she is aware of the new challenges facing safety in buildings and their occupancies as she is a member of the standing committee for fire-fighting code

and a Member of the permanent committee for the review of multipurpose projects at the national Egyptian housing and building research center (HBRC).

Currently, she is an Associate Professor at Heliopolis university where she teaches classes in Urban Design, Architecture Design and Graduation Project Studio.

Eng. Hagar Faggal, MSc

Assistant Lecturer

An architecture and urbanism enthusiast with major interests in community development, inclusive and sustainable urban acts. Hagar is currently an assistant lecturer in Heliopolis University in Cairo. She completed her Bachelor degree in Architecture from Girne American University, Cyprus in 2019, and followed her studies with her master’s degree in Human Settlements from KU Leuven, Belgium in 2021. She envisions an urban world where humans co-live with a fair-share within earth’s natural systems.

Eng. Nermeen Ashraf Fathallah, Bsc

Teaching assistant

Nermine A. Fathallah is a research/teaching assistant in the Department of Architecture, Faculty of Engineering, Heliopolis University, Egypt. Arch. Fathallah received her B.Sc. degree in Landscape Architecture in 2017 from the Urban Design and Urban Planning Department, Faculty of Engineering, Ain Shams University. 

 

Arch. Fathallah is a TA for the design studio, urban design, and landscape architecture courses, along with assisting architecture students to graphically represent their projects. Furthermore, she advises students on their graduation projects. Arch. Fathallah is currently pursuing her post-graduate studies in the same university that she had graduated from.

Eng. Nourhan Essam Hassan, BSc

Teaching assistant

Nourhan specializes in Building Energy Simulation, sustainable building design and performance. She has a 4 years of experience in teaching at Heliopolis University, where she obtained her bachelor degree in 2018.
